Motorists encouraged to plan ahead for Thursday night lane closures and detours at the U.S. 301 and I-10 interchange

Jacksonville As part of the I-10/U.S. 301 interchange improvement project, lane closures and detours are scheduled Thursday, May 10 for U.S. 301 northbound and southbound at I-10 to complete concrete work. Lane closures on U.S. 301 are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Ramp closures and detours are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather and schedule permitting.

To safely complete this work, the following detours and lane closures must take place:

U.S. 301 north and south off-ramp from I-10 west will be completely closed to traffic.

    • I-10 west to U.S. 301 north traffic will be detoured to exit I-10 west at Chaffee Road to west Beaver Street (U.S. 90).
    • I-10 west to U.S. 301 south traffic will be detoured to exit I-10 west at State Road 228 (Exit 336), to I-10 east to U.S. 301.

U.S. 301 northbound will be completely closed to traffic.

    • I-10 east off-ramp to U.S. 301 northbound traffic will be detoured to exit off I-10 east at Chaffee Road to travel west on Beaver Street.
    • U.S. 301 north traffic south of I-10 will be detoured to I-10 east to Chaffee Road to travel west on Beaver Street.
    • FCE traffic needing to travel U.S. 301 north will be detoured to I-10 east, to Chaffee Road to travel west on Beaver Street.

U.S. 301 southbound will be completely closed to traffic.

    • I-10 east off-ramp to U.S. 301 south will remain open to traffic traveling south.
    • U.S. 301 southbound traffic north of I-10 will be detoured to I-10 west, to State Road 228 (Exit 336) to I-10 east back to U.S. 301 south.
    • FCE traffic needing to travel U.S. 301 south will be detoured to I-10 west to    State Road 228 (Exit 336) to I-10 east back to U.S. 301 south.

Superior Construction Company began the $65 million improvements in late February 2016. The construction is estimated for completion in summer 2020, pending unforeseen circumstances.
