Your10and95 interchange operational improvements project will be detouring motorists on U.S. 17 northbound and southbound to construct ground mounted signs November 20-21, and to remove existing overhead signage November 27-30, depending on weather and other unforeseen delays. The detours will impact U.S. 17 northbound and southbound motorists between Edgewood and McDuff avenues. As part of the operational improvements project, three current overhead signs will be replaced with new ground mounted signs.
Road and lane closures, subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances:
- U.S. 17 northbound will have a right lane closure between Plymouth Street and McDuff Avenue November 20 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to construct mounted signs and pour concrete for the base of the new signs.
- U.S. 17 northbound will have a left lane closure between Plymouth Street and McDuff Avenue November 21 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to set the new mounted signage and posts on their new sign bases.
- U.S. 17 northbound will have an overnight full road closure from Plymouth Street to McDuff Avenue November 27-28 from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. to remove overhead signs. U.S. 17 northbound will be detoured, and U.S. 17 southbound will have a single inside lane closure. See northbound detour A.
- U.S. 17 southbound will have an overnight full road closure between McDuff and Edgewood avenues November 28-29 from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. to remove overhead signs. U.S. 17 southbound will be detoured, and U.S. 17 northbound will have a single lane closure. See U.S. 17 southbound detour C.
- U.S. 17 northbound will have an overnight full road closure between Edgewood and McDuff avenues November 29-30 from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. to complete removal of overhead signs. U.S. 17 northbound will be detoured, and U.S. 17 southbound will have a single lane closure. See U.S. 17 northbound detour B.
Detour signs will be posted as follows (see attached A, B and C detours, subject to change):
U.S. 17 northbound detour A: Just after Park Street, U.S. 17 northbound will be detoured to the Plymouth Street exit. Motorists will then make a right onto Cassat Avenue, then a right onto Lenox Avenue and another right onto Edgewood Avenue South which will reconnect with U.S. 17 northbound.
U.S. 17 northbound detour B: Just before Edgewood Avenue, U.S. 17 northbound motorists will exit at Edgewood Avenue and make a left. Once on Edgewood Avenue, they will make a right onto Plymouth Street and another right onto McDuff Avenue southbound which will reconnect with U.S. 17 northbound.
U.S. 17 southbound detour C: Just after Post Street, U.S. 17 southbound will take the McDuff Avenue exit where they will make a right, then they will make a left onto Plymouth Street, which will connect to Edgewood Avenue where they will make a left to reconnect with U.S. 17.
The project began in May with completion anticipated in summer 2020, depending on weather, holidays and unforeseen circumstances.
FDOT hired Archer Western as the contractor to complete this project for $126 million.
