Shift affects eastbound and westbound A1A/SR 200 in Nassau County

Yulee – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) plans to shift eastbound and westbound traffic about 700 feet before and after the Lofton Creek Bridge on A1A/State Road 200 on Saturday, October 14, depending on weather. The new traffic pattern will provide crews with a work zone area to construct the new bridge with additional lanes (see attached map).

The construction widening project increases approximately 5.5 miles of roadway from Rubin Davis Lane to County Road 107 along A1A/State Road 200 from four lanes to six lanes and includes raised medians, bicycle lanes, curbs and gutters, sidewalks and a new bridge constructed at Lofton Creek.

The project costs approximately $60 million and is expected to be completed by summer 2019 depending on weather and unforeseen delays.

Superior Construction of Jacksonville has been hired to complete the work for FDOT.

Roadway map shows the planned eastbound and westbound lane shifts before and after the Lofton Creek Bridge shifting traffic on A1A/State Road 200, weather permitting.
