FDOT Open House for University Blvd and Beach Blvd Intersection Improvements

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting an open house on August 24 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, 5530 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207 for the Beach Boulevard and University Boulevard intersection improvement project scheduled to begin construction in late September.

Those interested can drop by anytime between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. for this informal meeting to learn more about the project including timeframe, construction activities, traffic impacts and other details. Project staff will be available at the meeting to answer questions. Since this is an informal open house, no presentation will be made.

The project will take place between FOP Way and Ryar Road along Beach Boulevard. The improvements will include lane widening, resurfacing and improved drainage. This project is scheduled for completion in summer 2017, weather permitting. Work is currently underway to move utilities near the intersection to prevent disruption in services during construction.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability or family status as FDOT complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
