FDOT District Two – Northeast Florida 5-Year Work Program

A $2.53 billion list of improvements over the next five years (2016-2021) in Northeast Florida was highlighted at a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) public hearing Tuesday (October 6) in Jacksonville.

The meeting in Jacksonville addressed the work program around the Jacksonville urban area for Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns Counties.

An informal public meeting to discuss projects in Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor and Union Counties was held in Lake City on Thursday, October 8.

Each year, FDOT must update its five-year transportation plan with projects requested by the public, local government and metropolitan planning organizations.  The results will be presented to the Florida Legislature for budget approval in 2016.  Because the Legislature meets earlier in 2016 (January 12), the work program needs to be completed earlier.

Each county’s tentative transportation plan is available at the FDOT web site: http://www.d2wpph.com.  We invite you to take a look.
