Florida Seat Belt Use at Historic Rates

Preusser Research Group has completed a report on the rates of seat belt usage in Florida. According to the report, “The overall belt use rate for drivers and passengers combined measured 89.4%* in June of 2015… This rate represents Florida’s highest use level to date.”

The highest rate of seat belt usage in the State was measured in Alachua County at 94.7%. St. Johns also performed well at 91.2% and Duval County measured 90.0%. Awareness of seat belt laws and Buckle Up safety campaigns are credited for the increase in seat belt use.

Below are the final numbers for our 3 survey counties in District 2.
